Help Students See Their Future in Manufacturing

​Manufacturing Day is a nationwide celebration that brings manufacturing careers to life for students. Northwest Ohio manufacturers can connect with more than 350 students. Through employer exhibits, hands-on activities, and career conversations, this is your opportunity to introduce students to your company, showcase the work you do, and build awareness about manufacturing. 
Ways to Participate

Exhibit and Provide a Hands-on Experience
Bring your company’s story to life. Set up an interactive exhibit that introduces students to your products, processes, technology, people, and career pathways. An effective exhibit may include:
  • A hands-on activity, demonstration, sample product, tool, simulation, or technology display
  • Conversations with employees about their career journeys and day-to-day work
  • Information about in-demand occupations, internships, job-shadowing, apprenticeships, and entry points into your company
  • Company materials or appropriately branded items for student takeaways
You do not need a large or elaborate display. The most memorable experiences are often simple, interactive, and led by employees who are enthusiastic about their work. 
Conduct Mock Interviews
Help high school seniors build the confidence and skills they will use as they enter the workforce. Manufacturers are needed to conduct mock interviews with 12th-grade students during the afternoon. Interviewers will receive interview questions and a simple script. Mock interviews give students an opportunity to:
  • Practice answering common interview questions
  • Build confidence and communication skills
  • Receive real-world feedback from employers
  • Better understand what employers value in future employees

We are seeking 15 manufacturers as exhibitors and six manufacturers as mock interviewers. Whether you can participate in one role or both, your involvement matters.
